Bridges
are just one of the ways in which missing teeth
can be replaced. Although there are several
different kinds of bridge they are most commonly
made from porcelain bonded onto a metal skeleton
and are fixed onto the teeth adjacent to the
gap to be restored. They are a permanent restoration
which is cemented in place and as well as considerable
skill from the dentist and his laboratory technician,
for a successful and lasting restoration they
require rigorous daily cleaning by the patient.
They are not suitable for
all situations. If you think you would like
bridgework you need to consult your dentist
who can advise you about all of the options
for restoring missing teeth and whether a bridge
is right for you.
